Cyanotype
Discover the fascinating process behind one of photography's earliest printing techniques.
You'll learn how to prepare your materials, arrange botanicals and photographic elements, expose your designs using the sun's UV light and develop your own beautiful cyanotype prints.
Expect deep Prussian blues and bleaching techniques to achieve muted brown sepia images with unexpected results and plenty of experimentation.

Shibori
Explore the Japanese art of resist dyeing using indigo to create beautiful patterns and textures on fabric.
Through folding, sewing and binding the cloth before dyeing, you'll discover how simple manipulation and techniques can create wonderfully intricate results.
We'll be using an indigo dye vat to immerse fabric, often several times, so prepare to get messy!
The experience
Workshops take place in Chris's garden studio in rural North Hampshire, surrounded by the natural materials and inspiration that feed directly into her own practice.
Sessions are deliberately kept small, with 2–6 people per workshop, creating a relaxed and personal environment where there's plenty of opportunity to ask questions, experiment and enjoy the process.
Workshops include:
- Hands-on tuition throughout the session
- All materials
- Your own pieces to take home
- A relaxed, informal atmosphere
- Plenty of time to experiment and create
